Simple Elegance: Itzchak Tarkay

Park West Gallery proudly unveils a new website featuring one of the most influential artists of the early 21st Century, Itzchak Tarkay.

Cynthia, Blanche, Penelope, Margaret, Debbie and Donna...just of handful of the women in Tarkay's repertoire that showcase his contemplative depiction of the female figure.

As well as being a painter and watercolorist, Tarkay is a master graphic artist and his rich tapestry of form and color is achieved primarily through the use of the serigraph. Tarkay has certainly inspired dozens of artists throughout the world.

"Itzchak Tarkay is a refreshing anomaly in today's art world, and perhaps it can even be said that his work, which seems to stand outside of the mainstream, nonetheless anticipates the direction of art in the near future." ~ Joseph Jacobs, Curator of Painting and Sculpture at The Newark Museum

  1. The new Tarkay website it excellent! Congratulations on a job well done. This website clearly reflects Tarkay’s artistic genius. Hopefully we will be seeing new websites with the same format for all of the other great contemporary artists represented by Park West.

  2. I came across the new Tarkay website and was introduced to the Park West youtube's. Some are much better than others, but there must be a time limit causing there to be multiple tubes vs. one longer more informative one per artist. Don't get me wrong they are great! Shows everyone the inside of the artist studio. Hopefully there are more in the works for all the other great contemporary artists at Park West. I would love to see Marcus Glen's studio. It shows the real world of the artist.

  3. Congrats to Park West for getting one right. The Tarkay site is the best they have produced. A much better representation of the company on the web.

  4. Tarkay watercolors, those works produced as a series are my favorite. Each piece is the same yet totally different. The uniqueness makes it near impossible to decide which is one’s favorite, but as you look closer and discern the subtle nuance that draws you closer it becomes clear which one you just have to own.

  5. I prefer Tarkay's watercolors, especially those done in a series. Each one beautiful and unique yet similar. A very difficult decision to choose but a task generously accepted.

  6. I appreciate the use of real women, no skeletal models here.
